COVID-19 – Update

24th March 2020 – Following on from yesterdays  Premier’s announcement, Rottnest Fast Ferries services will be suspended until 30 April 2020 and we will continue to monitor the situation and update as it evolves. We recognise that this will be incredibly disappointing news for guests booked to travel between now and 30 April, but we trust you will understand.

All guests with travel booked through to 30 April 2020 will be provided with a credit to the value of 110% of their original booking which can be used for up to 2 years or we can re-book for a later date. We will be contacting you via email with the confirmation of your credit with us.

23rd March 2020 – As a result of the Premier’s announcement today, “I have advised the minister responsible for Rottnest, Paul Papalia to start the process of clearing Rottnest Island to ensure that we have Rottnest available if needed’ we will be cancelling any guests due to travel to Rottnest Island effective midday, Monday 23rd March 2020.

Our ticket office is under significant pressure responding to the rapidly evolving travel situation. At this stage we are prioritising those with imminent travel, and we ask that you do not call our office unless your travel is commencing within the next 24 hours. Please standby and wait to hear from us before changing your booking.

If you booked through a travel agency or third-party website, please contact these companies directly.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

22nd March 2020 – Dear customer, Rottnest Fast Ferries is in constant contact with the relevant authorities in relation to the operation of Rottnest Island and associated ferry services. Currently the Island and Rottnest Fast Ferries are operating normally as per the statement below issued on the 19th March. The most recent announcement by the Premier refers to Rottnest Island as one of many options being considered. Should any announcements be made by the Government that affects your travel plans with Rottnest Fast Ferries we will contact you with ample time to make any changes necessary, there is no need to contact our office which is currently experiencing high call volumes.

19th March 2020- Following the recent Australian Government advice issued on 18 March 2020, public transport services are considered essential services and therefore are exempt from the limitation placed on non-essential gatherings inside of 100 or more and the social separation requirements. While our ferry transport are exempt, we will endeavour to provide 1.5 metres of separation where and when it is practical for us to do so and encourage passengers to adhere to these recommendations.

16th March 2020 – Rottnest Fast Ferries recognises that travel is an important part of life. At the same time, we know there’s community concern about Coronavirus and public spaces. The wellbeing of our customers and staff is always our highest priority, so we want to explain what we are doing to ensure you can still travel with confidence. All the decisions we make are guided by the advice of authorities including the World Health Organisation and Australia’s Chief Medical Officer.

In addition to our normal high cleaning and sanitation standards we have installed hand sanitiser dispensers at each entry and exit point to our vessels, contact points at our ticketing counter are being regularly cleaned, cleaning of hard surfaces is undertaken after each voyage and we are installing posters to inform people of what they can do to stay healthy. Our vessels also feature large outdoor spaces.

Every part of the Rottnest Fast Ferries team is committed to your wellbeing when you travel. We thank you for your ongoing support and look forward to welcoming you on board soon.
