What is pre-authorisation?
Pre-authorisation, also known as a 'deposit,' is a predetermined amount temporarily held on your nominated card when picking up your hire equipment.
How much is the pre-authorisation?

When do I receive my money back?
Pre-authorisations on your card will be held as a "pending" transaction for a maximum of 10 days. The pending status will disappear once the bond is returned. If you encounter any issues or delays in the return of your bond, please contact your bank and they will assist in resolving the matter.
Rottnest Fast Ferries will only deduct a bond payment if the hire equipment is returned damaged or not returned at all. Please remember to lock your bikes using the provided lock when leaving them unattended on the island.
How to register your pre-authorisation online;
You will receive an email from Rottnest First Ferries one day before your departure date, follow the link in the email to complete the process. If you do not receive an email, you can still complete the registration process by following the instructions below.
Visit the "Manage My Booking" page.
Enter your booking number and security number from your booking confirmation email.
Click the "Register Pre-Authorisation" button in the Security Bond section.
Enter the credit card information for the pre-authorisation.
After completion, you'll receive an email confirming your registration.
Take a screenshot of the email or keep it on your phone.
Show the email or screenshot to the ground staff on the day of your travel.
