Luggage Labels & Delivery
The Rottnest Island Authority in conjunction with Rottnest Fast Ferries have introduced a luggage procedure that is designed to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and accuracy of luggage delivery on Rottnest Island.
To have your luggage delivered to your accommodation on the island, luggage labels will need to be purchased from our office at $3.00 per item.
Once booked if your travel arrangements change then new luggage labels will need to be re-issued at your departure point. Please see our staff prior to departure if you need to amend your labels.
Items that cannot be delivered:
Unlabelled/ incorrectly labelled luggage – please check with staff prior to departure.
Sporting equipment (including bikes, surfboards, golf clubs etc.) – sporting equipment incurs a freight charge which will need to be organised either when booking, or at our office prior to departure. Note: once on the island certain items can be delivered for a fee – see the visitors centre for more information when you arrive, or call them on 08 9372 9732.
Maximum Dimensions for Luggage Delivery:
Please also be aware that because of health and safety regulations, the following restrictions apply to any one item:
Maximum weight = 22kg
Maximum dimensions = 80cm x 50cm x 40cm
Delivery Timeframe:
Delivery times vary and may take up to 3 hours to be delivered to your accommodation. Any urgent items such as medication should be carried in hand luggage with you.

Bicycles & Bicycle Trailers
PRICE LIST:
Bicycles and bicycle trailers can be taken on our ferry service. Our prices are for a return journey. Bicycle trailers need to be collapsed and detached from your bike and handed to crew when boarding.
CARRIAGE OF BICYCLES AND BICYCLE TRAILERS
Due to the limitations of loading bicycles on board the vessel, only bicycles that are within the specifications listed can be loaded and are loaded subject to availability.
Height – No higher than 1.3 metres
Length – No longer than 1.8 metres
Width – Total width of the bike must be no wider than 45cm
Weight – No heavier than 22kg
Electric bicycles, that meet the above specifications (including maximum size and weight), can be loaded provided the battery pack is removed from the bicycle, unless this is built-in.
Bicycles that exceed any of these specifications cannot be loaded on any Rottnest Fast Ferries vessel.
Bicycle trailers are required to be empty before being loaded on board the vessel.

Are you taking an electric bicycle or an electric ridable to the island?
Under the requirements of the Road Traffic Code 2000, if you wish to bring an electric bicycle or e-ridable to the island, please ensure that your device is compliant.
Any electronic device, that is not an ERD classified device (click below to check if your device is an ERD) with a motor output of 200W and over, is illegal to use on a road in Western Australia (including Rottnest Island).
Over 200W, not classified as an ERD, can be seized and destroyed. This includes electric bikes, and electric motorbikes (for example Lil Rippa).
Please be aware that your device may be exposed to seawater during the crossing to Rottnest Island.
Carriage of Beach Trolleys
PRICE LIST:
Foldable beach trolleys are able to be taken to Rottnest Island at no additional charge however they need to be folded and stowed for the ferry voyage. If beach trolleys are full of items they will incur a $18.00 freight charge.
Beach trolleys are required to be empty and folded before being loaded on board the vessel to transfer free of charge.
Non-folding beach trolleys cannot be carried onboard our vessel.

Golf Clubs
Golf clubs are able to be taken to Rottnest Island at no additional charge when travelling with Rottnest Fast Ferries. Crew may ask you to leave golf clubs in a designated area of the vessel. Please make sure to collect these once you disembark from ferry.
Additional Freight Items
You are welcome to bring your own bike, scuba diving gear, surfboard, kayak, stand-up paddleboard and more, however, freight charges do apply to stow your equipment on the ferry.

Please notify the crew if you have the following items which are NOT to be stored in checked baggage.
Gas bottles
Flammable liquids (fuels, methylated spirits, camp stove fuels etc)
Spear guns and gidgees (completely banned on Rottnest Island)
