What is The Little Quokka’s Big Birthday Weekend?

Celebrate the wonder of nature and new life on Wadjemup / Rottnest Island with a weekend of fun activities for the whole family. 

The Noongar season of Djilba, known as first spring, is a transitional time when the weather warms up and wildlife flourishes. Following the winter months, the island landscape comes to life with quokka joeys taking their first hops into the world, birds roaming the skies and blooming trees.

Join in with the fun with a free, family-friendly event packed with live entertainment, arts and crafts, a quokka photography workshop, eco-education, sensory play, and lots more. 

When is The Little Quokka’s Big Birthday Weekend?

The event takes place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September from 10:00am until 15:00pm.

Where is The Little Quokka’s Big Birthday Weekend?

The event is located in the heart of the settlement, across Thomson Lawn and the terraces in front of the Visitor Centre, just a two-minute walk from the main jetty.
