Rottnest Island Information
Rottnest Island is one of Western Australia's most popular holiday
destinations.
The Island is the perfect destination for holidaymakers looking for a relaxing
holiday or an exciting outing for the day. You can take time to discover your
own private beach walk, enjoy a range of dining sensations or take part in a
variety of recreation options all of which will guarantee a great day out.
The island is an A-Class reserve enjoying a semi-arid Mediterranean style
climate. It is 11km long and 4.5km at its widest point, and is situated just 40
minutes by ferry from Hillarys Boat Harbour. Rottnest boasts some of the finest
beaches and bays in the world, together with a unique style of architecture
dating back to the 1800's. It has a fascinating history as an Aboriginal penal
settlement, an internment camp during both World Wars, a place for salt
gathering and processing and a World War II military installation. It is well
known to all Western Australians as a place for recreation, being first used by
governors of Western Australia as a summer residence between 1848 and 1919.
Which ever way you see Rottnest, whether just a day trip on one of our great

Rottnest Island Transfer Fares
Rottnest Fast Ferries depart Hillarys Boat Harbour 3 times daily, with an
additional departure on Friday evenings, giving you a great variety of times
through out the day to travel and return. Please ask our reservations staff
about additional departures to and from the Island during School and Public
Holidays. Coach Pickups are available from your accommodation in Perth City,
Belmont and the Sunset Coast.

Conditions of Carriage:
We do not take any responsibility for your baggage if it is lost or stolen
once it enters the crate from Hillarys Boat Harbour to Rottnest Island or from
Rottnest Island to Hillarys Boat Harbour. Guests must take full responsibility
to look after their baggage at all times and making sure they have the correct
labels on their baggage.

To All Passengers
If taking your own bike, please note we do not take any responsibility if your
bike is damaged on the ferry to and from Rottnest. Your bike maybe exposed to
sea spray and may get damaged from the rough seas; therefore if you are
concerned please hire a bike from our office.

Some Useful Tips For Rottnest... |

Hand Luggage |
Please only bring a small carry on bag that you would be happy to have in your lap. The isles on the Ferry are also emergency exits and must be kept clear at all times. |

Clothing |
We suggest casual clothing such as shorts and T-shirts during the
day, as well as swimming costume, hat, sunglasses, plenty of water and sunscreen. Also do not forget your camera.
For evenings at the Island, smart casual attire is suggested. |

Special Diets & Special Occassions |
If you are booking a package that includes meals, please advise
us should you have special dietary needs, or if you wish to celebrate a special
occasion during your cruise. |
